Want Silkier Curls? Here Are A Few Tips That Can Help!

All you curly-haired beauties know the perils of frizz all too well. If it has always been

your dream to sport smoother, silkier, more manageable curls, this blog is for you! Since

curly hair is considerably voluminous and springy, they harbor the tendency to concern

you with roughness, dryness, and fizziness.

Apart from incorporating a natural and customized range of products into your hair care

routine, there are a few proven tips that can help you retain the moisture! So, pair these

smart hacks with your very own Ravel custom hair products, and let’s get started on

a journey towards the silky locks of our dreams!

Let That Oil Seep In

Oil your hair and massage all that goodness into your scalp at least once or twice a

week, before you have a wash. If you wish to go the extra mile, heat up the oil just a

little bit, and end your massage sash with a hot towel that can be wrapped around your

hair for a few minutes!

Aloe Vera Over Everything

Aloe Vera is truly a wonder gel that doesn’t just work its magic on your skin, but also

your hair. Choose to directly extract fresh gel from the plant, or you could alternatively

go in for a store-bought pack. Take it in your palms and massage it well into your roots.

Do this twice or thrice a week, for your curly and rough hair to look all silky, shiny, and

smooth!

Flaxseed Gel

Another wonder gel that can easily be conjured up at home, this is a great way to

achieve silky smoothness on your rough and dry hair. Take 2 tablespoons of flax seeds

in 2 cups of water on a low flame and boil. Once you obtain a gel-like consistency,

remove from the heat, and filter the gel into a separate bowl. Mix 2 tablespoons of

honey to this flaxseed gel and massage it onto your scalp and hair. Leave on for 15

minutes and then wash off with your Ravel custom shampoo and conditioner.

Avoid silicones, sulfates, and parabens

One of the biggest causes of dry, damaged hair is the sulfates, GMO’s, Silicones, and

Parabens that are present in your shampoos, conditioners, and hair serums. Silicones

are plastics that are found in many styling products. They can only be removed by

sulfates, which are harsh cleaning agents. Sulfates can make curly hair dry and frizzy.

Parabens are preservatives, and may be linked to cancer; it is best to avoid them

altogether. Try switching over to hair care products that are natural and clean, because,

at Ravel, we are absolutely against using these three nasty chemicals!

Smart Shampooing

Apply shampoo to the roots and work your way down. There should be hardly any

shampoo on the ends of your hair. Shampoo can by drying, and the ends of your hair

are the most fragile.

With these super smart tips, coupled with your Ravel custom hair products, you’re going to

have silkier hair for days!
